Cell and module fabrication equipment
  • PECVD thin-film deposition system , ~10cm rigid or flexible substrates, MW or tunable RF power supply, full range of gases for a-Si:H + carbide + nitride alloys + dopant gases
  • EETS PV module laminator
  • PMMA casting
    • thermal polymerisation (HB320 sealing tank)
    • UV polymerisation (UV Crosslinker)
    • cutting and polishing (Mutronic Diaplain 6300)
    • EVA dyeing
    • curing (Carbolite oven)
    • degassing (Gallenkamp vacuum)
  • Microbalance

 

Optical Characterisation
  • Perkin Elmer UV/vis/NIR spectrophotometer + 150mm integrating sphere and centre-mount
  • Edinburgh Instruments FS920 UV/vis/NIR spectrofluorometer
  • Spectra-Physics Ar-Kr multi-wavelength laser (350 – 676nm)

 

Electronic materials characterisation
  • Renishaw Raman spectrometer
  • Capacitance-voltage (C-V) measuring system
  • Minority carrier lifetime flash tester
  • 4-point probe
  • SEM
  • AFM

 

Solar Cell Characterisation
  • Small area solar simulator (20cm x 20cm - class A) and current-voltage (I-V) measurement system
  • Large area solar simulator (1m x 1m - class B) and I-V measurement system
  • Spectral response (EQE, IQE)
